At the October 18, 2023 Council Meeting, the Council added a late addition to the agenda and held the first reading of the 2024 Salary Ordinance. The proposed ordinance includes the following:
-All full-time employees receive an increase of at least 3% or $2000
-All part-time employees receive an increase of at least 3% per hour
-Larger raises given to lower paid employees
-Used salary information from other entities to determine amount of increase
-No increase for elected officials
Changes can still be made to the ordinance between now and the adoption which will likely occur at the November 1, 2023 Council meeting.

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES
OF EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN OF CHURUBUSCO FOR THE YEAR 2024
BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Churubusco, Whitley County, Indiana, that the following will be the established salaries for employees of the Town of Churubusco for the fiscal year 2024.
Section 1 Established salaries by the Churubusco Town Council.
Town Council President $583.33 Monthly Council Members $464.19 Monthly
Section 2 Establishes salary for Clerk-Treasurer
Clerk–Treasurer $791.12 Bi-weekly
Section 3 Establishes salary for Council Chief of Staff
Council Chief of Staff $2076.93 Bi-weekly
The Council Chief of Staff is required to attend ALL Town Council meetings as part of his/her salaried position.
Section 4 Establishes salaries & wages for the Churubusco Police Department.
Town Marshal $ 2621.36 Bi-weekly
Straight time- $ 32.77 hour
Overtime- $ 49.15 hour
Holiday Shift Premium- $ 49.15 hour
The Town Marshal is required to attend one Town Council meeting per month as part of his/her salaried position.

Section 8 Longevity Pay
