Meeting Minutes- January 9, 2019

 

The Churubusco Town Council met for a special meeting on January 9, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall. Members present were Council Members Mark Pepple, Nathan Van Horn, and Bruce Johnson; and Clerk- Treasurer, Madalyn Sade-Bartl. Also in attendance were Jeremy Hart, Town Supervisor; Bob Gray, Wastewater Superintendent, and Town Attorney, Ron Felger.

 

President Pepple called the meeting to order and stated the purpose of the meeting was discuss provisions within the proposed Regional Sewer District contract. He stated since it was a regular meeting, votes could be made, and other topics could be discussed if presented.

 

Old Business:

  1. 1.       Regional Sewer District Contract: An open dialogue was had between the attendees and Council concerning the RSD including the current infiltration issues, capacity at the sewer plant, upgrades that needed to occur to fix the capacity issue, the Town’s ability to grow should the RSD contract be signed, and other concerns Mr. Gray, Mr. Hart, and Ms. Bartl had with the proposal. Gray and Hart fielded questions concerning sewer plant operations and infiltration, while Hart and Bartl answered questions concerning costs and completed studies that had been done, including the 2016 South Side Annexation study and the 2015 South Side Sewer Extension report. More discussion took place and President Pepple stated he would take the conversation to the RSD meeting next Tuesday. No decisions concerning the contract was made during the meeting.    

 

 

Having no other business, President Pepple adjourned the special meeting.
