TOWN OFFICES TO REOPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The Town of Churubusco has announced the Clerk’s Office and other municipal buildings will reopen to the public on March 1, 2021. On November 19, 2020, rising COVID-19 positivity and increased public spread forced offices to operate “by appointment only” operations. The pandemic also forced changes to town operations to protect the health and safety of residents and employees.

With declining community spread, officials believe the time to move back to normal operations has arrived. MASKS WILL STILL BE MANDATED FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS ENTERING A MUNICIPAL BUILDING! It is also strongly encouraged individuals paying utility bills continue to utilize the drop box or call-in option to assist in limiting potential exposure.

“We wish to thank our residents and customers for their understanding and cooperation as we have tried to limit the spread of COVID-19”, said Clerk-Treasurer Madalyn Sade-Bartl. “While the pandemic is not over, the decrease in positivity rates is encouraging and opening the buildings brings a sense of normalcy to our citizens and staff. However, we still strongly encourage customers use the drop box and request anyone who is feeling ill to stay home. We will continue to monitor the situation, and should positivity rates increase, the need to limit public interaction may again become necessary.”

Normal business hours for the Clerk’s Office are 8:00- 4:30, Monday through Friday. Normal business hours for the utility departments (water/sewer/street) are 7:00-3:00, Monday through Friday.
