The Churubusco Town Council met on April 28, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. in the Town Hall. Members present were Council Members Bruce Johnson and Frank Kessler, and Clerk-Treasurer Madalyn Sade-Bartl. Also in attendance was Rachael Rosfeld, Post & Mail.
Mr. Kessler called the meeting to order, welcomed visitors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll was called by the Clerk. Mark Pepple was absent.
New Business:
Given this was a special meeting, the Council was there to consider Resolution 2017-08: A Resolution Designating Certain Right-of-Way Strictly for Underground Buried Utilities. Ms. Bartl stated the resolution was in response to SEA 213 allowing small cell structures to be placed within public right-of-ways and municipalities could state certain areas were exempt by passing a resolution. Within the resolution, it designated Thresher’s Ridge as an underground utility area and explained that if Churubusco designated a historic preservation district, certain waivers would have to granted to those wishing to place the structures. Mr. Johnson made a motion to approve Resolution 2017-08. Mr. Kessler seconded and the motion carried 2-0.
Council Reports:
The Council had nothing to report.
Madalyn Sade-Bartl:
Ms. Sade-Bartl had a quick report concerning QuIP. She stated they had been notified they had not been awarded, but she had submitted the Stellar letter of interest and would hear something back the end of May.
Having no other business and after all proper papers were signed, President Pepple adjourned the regular meeting.
